EGR Deletes
Emission targets created by the European Union have forced vehicle manufactures to develop new systems for reducing vehicle emissions. One such development is the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system, the majority of diesel vehicles produced after 2002 are fitted with this system.
The EGR valve is designed to recirculate some of exhaust gases back into the engine’s combustion chambers. However, EGR valves are known for failing. Over time, carbon deposits tend to build up on the walls of the EGR pipe and around the valve itself. Eventually the deposits can grow thick enough to interrupt flow through the return pipe or prevent the valve from opening and closing correctly. In addition to this the carbon deposits are known to stick on to the inlet manifold which provides the engine with air for combustion, as this builds over time it can reduce air flow to the vehicles engine reducing performance.
It can be expensive to fix with a new EGR valve costing up to £500 alone and this doesn’t include labour costs.
Fortunately there is another solution!
An EGR Delete.
An EGR delete involves the reprogramming of the vehicles Engine Control Unit, to stop the vehicle requesting for the valve to be opened. In the majority of cases this alone will get your vehicle back running how is should without any warning lights.
An EGR Delete also comes with the added benefit that those dirty exhaust gases are no longer being run through your vehicles inlet manifold and into the combustions chambers reducing any risk of further damage being done!
With prices starting from just £199.99, our EGR delete service will save you money in the short and long-term.
Typical signs of an EGR fault:
- Poor running.
- Lack of power.
- Excessive temperature.
- rough idle
- Fault light or flashing coil light on dash.
EGR removal or EGR Delete services are sold as an off-road use only product, driving your vehicle on the road with emissions systems disabled could result in prosecution.
