Hard Cut Rev Limiter
In recent years we have seen a rise in demand for popcorn or hard cut limiters on diesel vehicles. A hardcut limiter basically changes the way a car behaves when the engine hits the rev limiter. Most diesel vehicles when stock will hit the pre-set rev limiter and will stay at that exact rpm point until the driver intervenes usually by taking their foot off of the accelerator pedal, this is known as a soft cut limiter. However, with a hard cut limiter or popcorn limiter applied we can cut the fuelling for a fraction of a second leading to the revs bouncing at the limiter, this makes a popping sound from the exhaust hence the name popcorn limiter.
