VAG Group Hot Start Fix
Does your VW Audi PD engined diesel start easily and quickly when cold but struggle to start when hot, you're not alone! this is described as a Hot Start Problem.
These diesel engines are started by the ECU and not by the driver. Starting is actually controlled by a ‘starting map’ in the ECU. Over time the PD engines have be known to develop issues with starting once hot, there can be several causes of this problem from temperature sensors to injectors but rather than wasting money replacing expensive parts that may or may not resolve the problem we have a guaranteed solution our Hot Start Fix!
By making small adjustments to the hot start map within the ECU software we have successfully managed to design a Hot Start Fix to work around these starting issues, leaving the vehicle starting just as well from hot as it does from cold.
